Species: Ardentiella sp.
Morph Name: Ember Bee
Common Name: Ember bee isopod
Type: Isopod

Keeping
Dificulty Level:
Intermediate
Purpose: Bioactive, isopod display colony
Origin: Southeast Asia (hobby lineage)
Enclosure: Ventilated bin with 2–4 in (5–10 cm) moist peat, leaf litter, limestone, and cork bark. Stable humidity more important than deep substrate.
Climate: Tropical; 70-75 °F (21-24 °C)
Humidity Requirements: 70-80% RH; leaf litter and limestone hides
Hydration: Half spray 1–2× weekly on one side; light corner pour as needed. Pair with a hydration station as a sidekick—it wicks moisture into the substrate and adds consistent humidity support for up to 2 weeks in setups that need it. Stations do not replace all spraying, but they help maintain stable moisture between mistings.
Diet: Decaying leaves, rotten hardwood, and vegetables. For breeding: offer Muscle Meal 2–3× weekly, Garden Graze 1–2× weekly, Fungal Feast weekly on leaf litter, and Calci-YUM at each feeding or as a constant dish. Add limestone pieces and bark hides.

Reproduction
Adult Size: 0.31-0.47 in (8-12 mm)
Breed Rate: Slow to moderate
Breeding Season: Year-round above ~20 °C
Brood Size: 10–30 mancae per brood typical for Ardentiella-group
